About us

Cherry Irrigation was founded in 1987 by Peter Cherry with the initial focus on irrigation design. Peter’s son, Charles, joined the company in 1992 and added more automation and turnkey-type projects to the mix.

Despite our Western Cape roots, we tackle irrigation projects in SADC countries and the rest of Africa.

Cherry Irrigation is ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certified, which means that we consistently meet customer requirements, as well as the applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. We also aim to enhance customer satisfaction by applying and improving our quality management system.

Cherry Irrigation is a company member of the South African irrigation organisation (SABI). Our association with SABI provides clients with extra peace of mind and guarantees that we will be providing appropriate and efficient irrigation services.

Our team is currently more than 50 people and includes seven technical teams and five qualified designers. Our design team consists of seven SABI-approved designers and our technical teams include electrical and automation, workshop, installation, and maintenance.

Each member of our team brings a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience which enable Cherry Irrigation to cover the full range of our clients’ agricultural irrigation requirements.
